CPLED Hires CEO
The Canadian Centre for Professional and Legal Education (CPLED) is the organization that develops and delivers the bar admission course for the law societies of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. As part of a new strategic focus, CPLED has created a CEO role, reporting to the CPLED Board.

The CPLED Board, working in conjunction with the three prairie law societies, has decided that we need to refresh the CPLED program, bringing our teaching and assessment practices in line with current educational approaches and technology. The initial work of the CEO will include working with the law societies of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan and the CPLED Board to establish the principles and practices to guide the redevelopment of our education and assessment models.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Kara L Mitchelmore DBA, BA, FCPA, FCMA, CMRP ( pictured right ) has been hired as the CEO of CPLED, starting in March 2018. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Athabasca University, is a fellow of the Certified Public Accountants and the Certified Management Accountants, and is a Certified Marketing and Research Professional.
